U.S. Nuclear Fleet at 94% Utilization

Nuclear outages continued to decline today, down 537 MW over yesterday.  Total outages now stand at 5,774 MW, 6% of the installed U.S. nuclear generation capacity.  In other words, 94% of nuclear capacity is being utilized at this point to meet electricity demand as the market transitions into the highest demand point during the year.  Compared to prior years, this is a relatively normal capacity utilization level to enter the summer season at.
