Asian demand for natural gas can be met by Canadian exports, which need to find a home after being pushed out of the United States and Eastern Canada, according to a market analyst.
Rick Margolin, manager, west region with BENTEK Energy, LLC, told the Canadian Energy Research Institute natural gas conference on Monday that Canada needs to develop its LNG export market, given the current market situation.
"The world, and more specifically the markets ... in Southeast Asia need more gas," he said. "That happens to coincide well with the fact that Canada has more gas. Not only from a supply perspective, but from an infrastructure perspective, we think that Canada is actually pretty well positioned to get that supply to future demand [areas]."
